Amy graduated as a student of occupational therapy at Wilbur Wright College in 2023 where she pursued her passion for helping people recover from injury and disease. She leads a team of multidisciplinary experts, graduates and undergraduates who collaborate with NASA and other partners to design, test, and implement The AMY. She has demonstrated leadership and excellence in various academic and extracurricular activities as a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, Project Manager of a NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars team, and Deputy Project Manager for NASA L'SPACE Mission Concept Academy. Additionally, Amy was awarded funding by NASA as Principal Investigator and Project Manager for her innovative new healthcare technology for the Spring 2023 NASA Proposal Writing and Evaluation Experience.
Sydney earned her B.S. from Arizona State University with a focus on Astrobiology and Biogeosciences. There, she studied under Dr. Sara Walker and investigated the possible biochemical function of The Last Universal Common Ancestor (LUCA) via enzymatic scaling laws. She has a strong background in data analysis, network science, and scholarly writing. Currently, she is primarily responsible for securing additional funding via grant writing.
CaelaGnutek
Caela is a versatile individual who has a Bachelors of Arts from University of St. Francis in liberal studies and recently graduated with an Associates of Applied Sciences in computer programming. Caela is the primary developer of this website, and she also offers additional support in targeting grants and providing scientific and engineering research. She plays a significant role in the conceptualization, prototyping, and software development for the AMY. Caela participates in multiple subteams, and has an extensive background in multiple programming languages.
PeterMolinar
Pedro is an Aerospace Engineering major at Texas A&M University. He is an advocate for Latinos/as in STEM through his involvement in organizations such as Latinos in Science and Engineering and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. As a part of The AMY project, Pedro is responsible for the research and development of the deployment of the AMY to currently established waste systems.
Minh is pursuing a B.S. in Accounting at the University of Illinois Chicago. Using her experience in business and healthcare administration, she supports the principal investigator by creating tools for budgeting, organization, and managing the team’s workflow. As a member of the science team, she is also responsible for conducting research and writing.
